Jordi Wood is a non-binary composer, multi-instrumentalist, sound designer, and ceremonial musician whose work bridges the precision of professional musical training with the depth of lived spiritual experience. Their sound—anchored in overtone vocals, trance rhythms, and intuitive melodic structure—is both finely crafted and deeply felt. From an early age, Jordi was drawn to sound as a sacred language. They began studying piano through community mentorship, eventually teaching others and performing in a wide range of musical contexts across the U.S. Over the years, their artistic journey evolved beyond performance, leading them to work as a composer, producer, and sound engineer—capable of scoring for film, building immersive live experiences, and guiding transformational sound journeys.

 

Following a series of profound health crises, Jordi’s path turned toward the jungle. In the Peruvian Amazon, they apprenticed in the art of vegetalismo under the guidance of a respected elder, undergoing long periods of isolation and rigorous master plant dietas. They were formally initiated into the tradition and given the Shipibo name Sui Nihue—“a gentle and beautiful breeze.” Today, they help steward a sacred healing center in partnership with the Shipibo family who guided their apprenticeship, offering deep ceremonial work in right relationship with tradition.

 

Through these teachings, Jordi learned to listen in new ways—to receive songs directly from the plants, to use sound as diagnosis, and to channel healing through frequency and voice. This discipline became a cornerstone of their sound medicine practice: a unique form of vocal sonar that reveals and remedies energetic imbalances.

 

Their latest offering, SALUD, is a ceremonial composition born from the silence and listening cultivated in the rainforest. It serves as a threshold—a guided initiation through rhythm, breath, and spirit. Whether composing for screen, creating healing transmissions, or collaborating across mediums, Jordi brings rare depth, spiritual integrity, and an expansive creative voice to every project.
