Ever wonder what a medicinal plant would sing about?  Deep within the Amazon Rainforest where the ritual use of Ayahuasca, one of the most potent psychedelic compounds on Earth, is a common indigenous practice – Shamans and healers work closely with medicinal plants to forge relationships so that they may call upon them for help during healing ceremonies.  With the belief that plants will talk to those who take the time to listen, healers spend weeks and months isolated in the rainforest to immerse themselves within the web of nature. During this period, they consume nothing more than rice and plantains and a single medicinal plant. The Shamans are eventually visited by the spirit of the plant and are given a song they can use to call upon the plant while they are deep within their visionary states.  Jordi Wood, proficient musician and student of a gifted Ayahuasca Shaman, teams up with Grammy nominated producer Ben Leinbach to bring you deep into the Amazon through rich sonic tapestries and compelling soundscapes.

The Wheel of Time was cultivated from Jordi's most recent trip to the jungle.  After spending the first half of 2022 in the Peruvian Amazon, Jordi was inspired to find a way to bring this vibrational medicine out of the rainforest and into the homes of those who are not able to make the pilgrimage to South America. The title of the album comes from a Tibetan painting called the Bhavacakra, or the Wheel of Continual Existence. This painting provides a map of reincarnation within the realms of suffering and the way to transcend this wheel altogether and achieve enlightenment.  At the center of the wheel are three figures representing attachment, aversion, and ignorance – all three of which are presented as being the root of all suffering and the cause of all diseases.  It is Jordi’s belief that the plant medicines of the rainforest help one to evaluate these places within oneself and detach the holds that these karmic imprints have on the mind so that the root of these addictions or diseases can be reconciled.
